About The Artist
Savoy Truffle
Theodora Eliezer grew up traveling internationally, settling in New Orleans in 1998. Many of her designs are inspired by mythology, folklore, and ancient cultures. Transforming materials that are typically overlooked into beautiful objects of adornment is one of the guiding inspirations for Theodora’s Savoy Truffle line, which is particularly evident in her series of electroformed jewelry. Electroforming is a slow process of copper plating an organic object, resulting in a final product that is an immortalized piece of nature and truly one of a kind. Animal welfare is extremely important to her, so no animals are harmed for the sake of any of the electroformed jewelry. Further influenced by the aesthetics of the industrial revolution, 19th century science, and traveling carnivals, the jewelry and accessories of Savoy Truffle provide the wearer with a way to incorporate the eclectic spirit of New Orleans and our rich and mysterious history into their daily lives.
