About Our Art Gallery Artists

Leveeland Creations

Leveeland Creations is the home to home-made, hand-painted native folk art by Lance Varg Vargas (seen here on Mardi Gras Day). The art is mostly created using found wood and objects around New Orleans, Louisiana. Objects that have been added to pieces include, old Carnival throws, feathers, chicken bones, Hardie board, siding, hardwood floors, fence posts, machine parts, leaves and anything else that fits the design of any certain creation. Much of the wood comes from gutted houses around New Orleans and from The Green Project and Habitat Restore. Inspiration comes from area colloquialisms, street names, languages, spirits and necessities. Some are just there to make a short, simple statement about whats important in life. Varg is also inspired by the role of rabbits in folklore and trickster tales and uses them in modern life. Many of the pieces can be displayed inside or outside in the shade.

Amelie Marchesseau

Live your passion . . .dream big. A few years ago these words transported Amelie Marchesseau into her career as a full time artist. Loving art as long as she can remember, she had taken a divergent path of business as an adult, leaving her art left over time. It was not until her brother, dying from Melanoma cancer, encouraged her to live life with courage and follow her passion that she took the steps to put her career back on its intended path of full time painting and ceramics affectionately known as AmelieArt. www.amelieart.com for a full range of her art.
