Retrospective Studio
Railroad Art of New Orleans is a hand crafted ceramic replication of a railroad tie. After each piece is kiln-fired and given its authentic rusted-iron finish, it is completed with an original photograph of a New Orleans landmark or local favorite. Because of its handmade nature, each piece ranges from 7” X 9” to 8” X 10” in size.
The Railroad Art collection continues to grow and currently includes approximately one hundred different images of New Orleans locations. Please contact the artist if you are interested in an image you do not see here. Special requests are welcome. Hand made to order. Please allow 2 to 3 weeks for delivery.

About Retrospective Studio
Retrospective Studio
New Orleans artist, Kathleen Carroll of Retrospective Studio, specializes in mixed media and vintage or mid-century inspired creations. She uses innovative techniques in order to resurrect the past in new and creative forms. Her work is heavily influenced by her native city and often incorporates seemingly mundane objects, photography or paper as medium, and ceramics.
Kathleen took her first pottery class in 1997 and, after exploring several other art forms over the years, launched her first Retrospective Studio collection in 2004. She is a University of New Orleans graduate with a degree in English.
In addition to clay, Kathleen enjoys expressing herself creatively in several other media and is also a successful website designer and freelance photographer with Infomotion Graphics, a digital graphics and web authoring studio.
